Ordinal numbers
Los números ordinales indican el orden o la posición de algo. Responden a la pregunta «¿cuál es su posición en el orden?». La mayoría de los números ordinales se forman con la terminación -th.

En los múltiplos de diez, la y final de la forma cardinal cambia a ie antes de añadir -th: thirty → thirtieth.

En los números ordinales compuestos, solo cambia la última parte: twenty-one → twenty-first y one hundred twenty-three → one hundred twenty-third.
Los sustantivos que van acompañados de números ordinales suelen llevar el artículo definido the. Los ordinales responden a la pregunta «¿cuál es su posición en el orden?».
- It is the first time I have seen such beautiful flowers. — Es la primera vez que he visto flores tan hermosas.
- The tenth candy was too much for me. — El décimo dulce fue demasiado para mí.
- Matt was the hundredth customer that day, so he got a present. — Matt fue el centésimo cliente ese día, así que recibió un regalo.
