Ordinal numbers

Números ordinales indican el orden de los objetos, su número ordinal. Responden a la pregunta « ¿cuál en orden?». La mayoría de los números ordinales se forman con la terminación -th.

30 - thirtieth 40 - fortieth 50 - fiftieth 60 - sixtieth 70 - seventieth 80 - eightieth 90 - ninetieth

100 - hundredth 200 - two hundredth 1000 - thousandth 1200 - one thousand two hundredth 100 000 - hundred thousandth 1 000 000 - millionth 1 000 000 000 - billionth (mil millonésimo)

Los sustantivos que van acompañados de números ordinales se usan con el artículo definido the. Responden a la pregunta «¿cuál en orden?».

• Es la primera vez que veo flores tan hermosas. - It is the first time I see such beautiful flowers.
• El décimo dulce fue demasiado para mí. - The tenth candy was too much for me.
• Matt fue el centésimo cliente ese día, así que recibió un regalo. - Matt was the hundredth customer that day so he got a present.
