El Grado Superlativo de los Adjetivos en Inglés

El grado superlativo de los adjetivos se utiliza para comparar tres o más cosas o personas, indicando la cualidad en su grado más alto. Es decir, muestra a un sujeto con la mayor cantidad o calidad de una determinada característica dentro de un grupo.

Formación de Superlativos

La formación del superlativo en inglés depende del número de sílabas que tiene el adjetivo.

Adjetivos de una sílaba: Agregamos '-est' al final del adjetivo. Por ejemplo, 'small' se convierte en 'smallest', y 'tall' se convierte en 'tallest'. Si el adjetivo termina en una consonante, vocal, consonante (CVC), duplicamos la última consonante. Ejemplo: 'big' se convierte en 'biggest'.
Adjetivos de dos sílabas terminados en '-y': Cambiamos la 'y' por 'i' y agregamos '-est'. Por ejemplo, 'happy' se convierte en 'happiest'.
Adjetivos de dos sílabas (no terminados en '-y') o de tres sílabas o más: Utilizamos 'most' antes del adjetivo. Por ejemplo, 'careful' se convierte en 'most careful', y 'interesting' se convierte en 'most interesting'.

Uso de 'The' con Superlativos

Normalmente, colocamos 'the' antes del superlativo porque estamos hablando de algo específico. Por ejemplo:
