  • I → am (primera persona del singular)
  • He, she, it → is (tercera persona del singular)
  • You, we, they → are (segunda persona del singular y primera, segunda y tercera personas del plural)
  • I am speaking on the telephone. — Yo estoy hablando por teléfono.
  • She is watching TV now. — Ella está viendo la televisión ahora.
  • They are walking down the street. — Ellos están caminando por la calle.
  • She ’s working now. — Ella está trabajando ahora.
  • We ’re cleaning the house. — Nosotros estamos limpiando la casa.

Negación

La oración negativa en Present Continuous se forma colocando la partícula negativa not después del verbo auxiliar am, is o are.

  • I am not playing the guitar now. — Yo no estoy tocando la guitarra ahora.
  • She is not watching TV now. — Ella no está viendo la televisión ahora.

Contracciones negativas

  • is not = isn’t
  • Kate isn’t studying at the moment. — Kate no está estudiando en este momento.
  • are not = aren’t
  • They aren’t talking about it.

  • Am I speaking on the telephone? — ¿Estoy hablando por teléfono?
  • Is she watching TV now? — ¿Está viendo la televisión ahora?
  • Are they walking down the street?

  • What am I doing now? — ¿Qué estoy haciendo ahora?
  • What is she watching now? — ¿Qué está viendo ella ahora?
  • Where are they walking?

  • I’m washing my clothes at the moment. — Estoy lavando mi ropa en este momento.
  • They’re repairing the car right now. — Ellos están reparando el coche justo ahora.
  • I’m working and Ann is cooking now.

  • She’s preparing for her exam next week.
  • My brother is looking for a job these days.
  • I’m waiting for a parcel to arrive soon.

  • They’re moving to Kyiv next Monday. — Se mudarán a Kiev el próximo lunes.
  • I’m going to the seaside this evening. — Iré a la costa esta tarde.
  • Kate and I are playing at our new concert tonight.

  • The weather is changing so quickly these days.

  • You’re always interrupting me when I’m trying to tell this story.
  • He’s constantly losing our keys while we’re on vacation.

  • now — ahora
  • right now — justo ahora
  • still — todavía
  • currently — actualmente
  • at the moment — en este momento
