Past Continuous указывает на процесс, длившийся в определенный момент или период в прошлом.
⇒ Чтобы составить утвердительное предложение в Past Continuous, необходимо:
1. На первое место поставить I/we/you/they/he/she/it или существительное в единственном числе или во множественном;
2. was/were;
3. Глагол с окончанием -ing;
4. Остальные слова.

- I/he/she/it или существительное в единственном числе употребляются только с was;
- We/you/they или существительное(-ые) во множественном числе употребляются с were.

Отрицательные предложения в Past Continuous образуются с помощью was/were и not. Они часто сокращаются до wasn’t и weren’t. Давайте рассмотрим их употребление.
1. На первое место поставьте I/we/you/they/he/she/it или существительное в единственном или во множественном числе;
2. was not/were not или сокращённую форму wasn’t/weren’t;
3. Глагол с -ing;

Вопросительные предложения в Past Continuous образуются с помощью Was/Were.
- Was ставится перед I/he/she/it или перед существительным в единственном числе и глаголом с - ing.
- Were ставится перед you/we/they или перед существительным(-ми) во множественном числе и глаголом с -ing.
⇒ Если в вопросе есть слова What?, Where?, When? и т.д., то was/were стоят после них.
